For today’s Caturday, we have a beautiful illustration from Johanna Spyri’s classic book Heidi. The little protagonist is the picture of sweetness, carrying the two tiny black kittens in her apron pockets. The Art and Picture Collection at NYPL has a great selection of images from this treasured children’s book. Any one of them would make a great piece of art for a children’s room and are available to purchase online!

What greater gift than the love of a cat?
Save a life this winter!
Back by popular demand - WINTER!! Actually, because winter is quickly approaching, stray and feral cats desperately need shelter to survive the cold weather. If you can’t take in a neighbourhood homeless cat, please make these shelters for them. They are easy, inexpensive and life-saving. If you are in the GTA area, the Toronto Humane Society has a workshop once per month where you can help make the shelters with other people trying to help and/or purchase the finished shelters for only $15. Please share so that we can alleviate the suffering of these sweet animals.
